‘The Young Theatre is an outstanding small institution in Graubünden. This region, which lies between Chur and Tirano, already has many stages, including village farces, open-air productions, theatre on Alpine passes, cosmopolitan stages and small basement venues. However, Roman Weishaupt and his collaborators have made it their mission to inspire the region’s young people through contemporary theatre — theatre that engages with their joys, fears and hopes; theatre that celebrates Richard III, Odysseus and Parzival as states of the soul. They do so with power, passion and intelligence. It brings world literature to the stage in Chur dialect, Romansh, Italian and Standard German.
