Development
The musical was born out of a meeting and brainstorming session with the children of the Chor d’affons Surselva. Inspired by the theme “The Great Forest” – the meaning of the name Surselva, “above the forest”, and the Great Forest near Flims – the children drew, painted, invented stories and developed their own ideas.
Drawing on this material, Roman Weishaupt wrote the song lyrics and created the narrative framework for the production. Flavio Bundi composed the music. The narrator’s role and text were written specifically for the actress Marina Blumenthal.
And so the story of the child who lived in a tree was born.
