From Stage Production to Children’s Songbook
Following the collaborative work with the children of the Chor d’affons Surselva, a Sursilvan children’s songbook was created at the initiative of conductor Rilana Cadruvi.
In a lightly adapted literary form, it tells the story of the child who lived in a tree. Across twelve polyphonic songs and one rap, the children’s dreams, fantasies, joys and fears are given a voice. Through stories of Ida the hen, Pilat the squirrel and a child who wanted to fly, Roman Weishaupt’s texts and Flavio Bundi’s music open the door to a poetic and fantastical world of childhood.
The publication includes piano accompaniments, guitar chords and a CD featuring recordings by the Chor d’affons Surselva, as well as instrumental versions. Short German summaries make the song lyrics accessible to a non-Romansh-speaking audience.
